As an investor, do you feel the market is performing poorly or is it neutral? Neither one because the market is not the one doing the performing, it is you, the investor that performs. You can perform well or not but the market only moves, as in it goes up and it goes down.
It is possible though to still make money in a stagnate or a down market which tells you that it is the market that moves and it is you who reacts to its movements. You can react directly or indirectly. Directly you chose your own stocks and indirectly it will be your fund manager or your broker who picks for you. You even chose your broker so a loss is not his responsibility. It is all you, your choices and your decisions, your performance.
For this reason, you need to educate yourself because it it all up to you.
Study what happened in the past and notice what is predicted for the future. An educated investor has the advantage of a clearer path to make better choices as to the use of his money.
